One True Saxon
In 1999 One True Saxon was born! Ian pailey, an ordinary every day bloke had decided it was time that there was a cutting edge men’s designer label on the market which reflected his own views of elegant simplistic style rather than the over the top in your face ugliness of a lot of other labels on the market at the time. Henceforth One True Saxon was Ian Pailey’s creation. Both designer and creator of One True Saxon Pailey had an excellent working back ground as he had been responsible for the first couple of Red Ear designs another Paul Smith diffusion label. He had also been involved in Paul Smith’s R. Newbold label.
So obviously this young One True Saxon designer had pedigree, but would it account for anything once he headed into the rather ominous world of fashion on his own?
Well yes it would, not only did this bloke have an idea, a concept, and a dream but he had the goods to back it all up too. One true Saxon was to be a distinctly English label but more importantly One True Saxon was to be a distinctly Northern label. One True Saxon even went as far as to not allow the first two collections to be sold anywhere South of Nottingham! In fact Nottingham is where One True Saxon is based, the very centre of England itself.
The first few ranges of One True Saxon featured T-Shirts with prints reading ‘M62’ ‘Good North’ and Northern Wizard’. One True Saxon had firmly stuck the flag of St George into their patriotic and nostalgic brand. The One True Saxon jeans were the absolute antithesis of the overly hyped and rather vulgar Evisu jeans with their tipp-exed seagulls on the pockets and sometimes right up the back of both legs. The One True Saxon jeans merely have a small beige leather tab on the rear left pocket, One True Saxon is the absolute of style and grace for the every day young modern style conscious bloke on the street.
One True Saxon quickly became popular with the modern day casual and is an essential on today’s terraces. The simplistic, smart and stylish look appeals to the casual of today, just like so many other brands did during the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
The good people at One True Saxon have no elusions about their brand, they know it’s fantastic and know its appeal. One True Saxon does not chase fashion trends, One True Saxon does not adhere to here today gone tomorrow crazes and One True Saxon certainly does not conform!
