Summer 2010’s Awesome Attractions

The summer of 2010 is hastily turning into an absolute classic, one to remember for some time to come in fact. But how is it different from any other summer, I hear you cry, well for starters its FIFA World Cup time again and South Africa is proving to be a sensational venue due to its colourful African spirit and the distinct blare of the vuvuzela (however annoying they have proved to be). But that’s not all folks, oh no, Wimbledon is back and the hopes of a nation rest on one man’s shoulders… even if he is Scottish! However, we’re not finished yet. Glastonbury is back too with some big names like Muse, Snoop Dog, Gorillaz and literally hundreds more. Now you’d be forgiven for thinking this was enough and usually it would be but this year Britain is experiencing something rather unusual, something called… the SUN! Oh yes, 2010 is actually providing some decent beer garden weather.

All of this great sport, music and weather is lacking something though, something which will make you stand out from the crowd whilst sitting in a beer watching England win the World Cup or in a field watching Snoop Dog (of all people) mash it up on the pyramid stage. That’s right, some decent clobber from Red Square. So here are a few suggestions to get you thinking.

How about the brand new Pretty Green pique polo’s in turquoise, candy, lilac or powder blue. Very summery! Or maybe something a bit more hip-hop for Glastonbury and Snoop, well we’ve got a great selection of Stussy waiting for your approval. But, if Wimbledon is more your bag then get kitted out in our vast Fila Vintage collection.

South Africa World Cup 2010 – Table Mountain, Cape Town Stadium.

Wimbledon, The famous “Henman Hill” of years gone by .

Glastonbury, The Pyramid Stage – home to some of the worlds greatest artists throughout the years .

Slazenger Heritage – World Cup Footballs

Slazenger Heritage Replicates World Cup Glory

Ok, so you know all there is to know about the World Cup in ’66. You’ve heard it all before. You know it was English football’s most glorious moment, you recognise the iconic image of Bobby Moore being held aloft by his team mates clutching the Jules Rimet cup and you’ve heard the famous words “some people are on the pitch, they think it’s all over…..” a thousand times before. You probably even know who World Cup Willie is!

But, did you know that Slazenger made and supplied the official World Cup match ball? That’s right, the one and only time England won the World Cup Slazenger supplied the match ball, since then it has been an Adidas ball and we haven’t won it since, coincidence?

Well fear not as it may well be England’s turn once more as Slazenger Heritage, aren’t supplying the ball to the World Cup, but have released a limited number of replicas of the 1966 ball in time for South Africa. Could be an omen, fingers crossed!

The leather replicas have an authentic logo on the front and commemorative text, of the final against West Germany, on the rear.

Available soon at Red Square Clothing

World Cup nostalgia hits the 80s Casuals boys!

The lads at 80s Casuals have made a name for themselves through a series of witty and engaging tee shirt designs which relive the glory years of the terrace casual, from prints depicting the classic Adidas Gazelle trainers to images of young hooligans kitted out in Stone Island, 80s Casuals have always had their fingers firmly on the button when it comes to what today’s modern lads want in casual tee shirt designs.

So, as the nineteenth Fifa World Cup in South Africa approaches, in a mere ten days!, 80s Casuals have come up trumps yet again with a great new tee shirt design dedicated to previous World Cup’s and the clobber worn at each event… And guess what, we’ve got our little mitts on some too!

The print depicts four boxes each assigned its own World Cup era, Argentina ’78, Espana ’82, Mexico ’86 and Italia ’90. Every box also has the image of a young casual lad in that era’s clobber. Underneath are the words ‘Your country needs you!’ I tell you, what more does one need as a rallying cry to support the lads in South Africa?!

Each design comes in navy, red, white or sky blue. So, what you waiting for? Get your 80s Casuals World Cup tee today!

Fila Vintage – Terrinda Track Pant

Fila Vintage Settanta Mark 3, known as Terrinda, was launched in 1982 and is the elite clothing of the casuals/terrace culture range. The success of a string of British films such as The Firm and The Business saw these particular pieces rise back to fame and become massive once again in the eyes of every football loving alpha male that lurks within us all!

At Red Square Clothing we initially solely aquired the popular French Blue colour, but with the amount of interest it received we soon chose to bolster the range, adding more vibrant colours and now we have got our hands on all of the matching Track Pants in French Blue, Chinese Red & Dark Peacoat.

We think its fair to say you wont find a more comfortable pair of pants on the market, comprised from 100% soft brushed polyester, almost suede like in its texture finished with a supported knee and the world famous embroided Fila emblem.
