Lacoste clothing is a high end sportswear brand that has successfully crossed over to become a respected fashion label in its own right. The company takes its name from its founder Rene Lacoste a highly successful tennis player who achieved seven grand slam trophies during the 1920's. During the latter stages of his career Rene decided to create his own tennis clothing line that he could wear on court. The Lacoste Polo Shirts design was born with the material made from a mesh cotton design and each garment featuring the now trademark crocodile logo design, with the idea behind that coming from Rene's nickname on the court.
During the 1950's and 60's Lacoste started experimenting with a clothing range which they began to distribute in America. It was very popular from the start as College students started the "Preppy" fashion movement which also saw brands such as Ralph Lauren spring to fruition. Lacoste Polos were an instant hit particularly due to their smart casual nature and the varied colours and designs that they were available in.
Today the company maintains its status as a fashion brand and also as a sports brand, and true to its roots in tennis sponsors leading players Andy Roddick and Richard Gasquet. Our clothing range from the brand includes a selection of Lacoste Jackets, Lacoste T-Shirts and Lacoste Jumpers.
