Trainerspotter Brand Profile
Nine short years ago in 2002 to mates named Russell Gater and Daniel Savory decided to utilise their passion for vintage trainers into something creative, they created Trainerspotter.
Initially the main goal was to explore avenues of sports heritage, street subculture and graphic design. The two friends were frustrated that the roots of the trainer, which were in sports, had been forgotten. They wanted to shine a light on trainer culture which nobody had heard before. They drew inspiration from their heroes such as Jeff Johnson, Steve Prefontaine, Rudi Dassler and Geoff Hollister.
Since its initial launch in 2002 Trainerspotter has become a global player and collaborated with world renowned stores and artists including De La Soul, Roots Manuva, Arctic Monkeys and Mike Skinner.
